Modern office setting Casual work attire Relaxed atmosphere On-the-job training Summary As a Visitation Monitor, you willmonitor visits between a non-custodial parent and child or children.
You supervise such meetings when a court order requires that a third party is needed to supervise the parent/child-children's interaction.
Your duties typically focus on ensuring that the child remains safe during the interaction.
Duties Work cooperatively within the agency Provide supervision to parents visiting with children in protective custody Scheduling of meetings between parent(s) and child and/or children Educational training for parents before and after a visit Major Responsibilities and Tasks Provide supervised visits as outlined by referral source which may include hands-on assistance and education to the family.
Inform parents if they are to provide supplies, snacks, etc.
Schedule visitation sessions as outlined in the parent's case plan.
Participate in court appearances upon request and as outlined in the case plan.
Participate in ongoing assessment and evaluation as requested or outlined in the case plan.
Provide written and verbal feedback to clients regarding their conduct and progress in the visits.
Monitor and provide a safe visitation environment for children and terminate the visit if it is not deemed appropriate or parties involved have improper conduct.
Clearly define the rules of visitation with all parties involved and notify the referring agency if rules are violated.
Provide necessary client information to the referral source and the family (Contact logs, reports, case updates).
Establish and maintain appropriate professional files which provide all necessary documentation regarding the family.
Maintain weekly updates with your Supervisor regarding all cases.
Knowledge and Skills Activities are governed by a professional code of ethics and rules of confidentiality.
A thorough knowledge of family function is expected with emphasis on supervised visitation.
Effective skills should be demonstrated in dealing with families involved in abuse/neglect situations as well as those involved in juvenile delinquency and child development issues.
A thorough knowledge of community resources is expected.
